The Associate Project Leader provides on-site leadership for field operations. This role directs crews, manages execution, ensures safety compliance, and delivers high-quality work on schedule and within budget.
You are not a desk supervisor. You are hands-on, technically strong, and accountable for field performance from mobilization through closeout.
Lead and supervise field crews on active job sites
Plan daily work based on scope and schedule
Execute piping system installations, tie-ins, testing, and field operations
Perform and oversee hydro and pneumatic testing, drying systems to dewpoint
Read and interpret construction drawings and P&IDs
Manage project budget and gross profit performance
Establish work plans, staffing, and job resource requirements
Ensure proper equipment setup including skid and hose configurations for optimal flow and chemical contact
Conduct Pre-Job Hazard Analyses and facilitate daily safety talks
Maintain compliance with all safety standards and chemical handling procedures
Troubleshoot equipment failures and resolve field issues
Load and mobilize required equipment and chemicals for each assignment
Communicate directly with clients and serve as a field-level leader and mentor
Strong piping systems experience, including pickle and passivation
Mechanical aptitude and hands-on construction site experience
Experience leading crews in superintendent, shift supervisor, or team lead roles
Proficiency in pH neutralization, calibration, and testing methods
Experience working with citric, caustic, and other hazardous chemicals
Ability to operate company vehicles including trucks, Sprinter vans, and forklifts
High school diploma or GED required
OSHA 10 required
HAZWOPER and Confined Space certifications preferred
Technical training or AA degree preferred
Completion of Frontline Supervisor training preferred
Significant overtime required
Nights, weekends, holidays, and short-notice call-ins as needed
30 to 50 percent of shifts may require night work
Extensive overnight travel by land and air
Regular standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs
Work at heights including ladders, rooftops, scaffolding, bucket trucks
Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, vibration, wet or humid environments
Use of required PPE during chemical processes
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to interpret technical documents and instructions
Basic math competency including rate, ratio, and percentage calculations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Valid Class C driver’s license with acceptable driving record
